August 2016 – Preservative Free Sparkling Vermentino
Naturally sparkling wines have been made for centuries, and now at Burnside we have made our first Pet Nat Vermentino.
No yeast, no sulphur. Just 100% certified organic grapes. Handpicked and made on site. The grapes never leave the farm. The wine expressing true terroir.
Naturally lightly sparkling tasting of lemon and pears. 11.8% a/c and easy to drink.
Pétillant-naturel (natural sparkling) is a term for practically any sparkling wine made in the méthode ancestrale, meaning the wine is bottled before primary fermentation is finished, without the addition of secondary yeasts or sugars.
This method produces a simpler, more rustic sparkler than Champagne. At Burnside we fermented our certified organic grapes with no added yeasts in barrel. 10 days after fermentation we bottled the wine under stelvin.With only one barrel made this wine will sell out fast.
